MTN Elite Two Match Day One clash between Avion Academy and Bamboutos FC Ends Prematurely

The first match of MTN Elite Two between Avion Academy and Bamboutos FC, took place at the Bepanda Annex Stadium in Douala.

It should be noted that Bamboutos FC of Mbouda started the match with only eight (8) players due to some players without licenses.

Events that Followed

In the 12th minute of the game, two Bamboutos FC players, Koupit MANI (jersey no. 10) and Dipanda Julien OMER (jersey no. 22), sustained injuries, which were confirmed by the on-site doctor.

Following these injuries, Bamboutos FC’s squad was reduced to six (6) players on the field.

Referee’s Decision and Application of the Regulations

Faced with this situation, the refereeing team decided to apply the provisions of the applicable regulations.

In accordance with Law 3, paragraph 1 of the Laws of the Game, which stipulates that:

“If a team has fewer than seven players, the match cannot continue,”

So the referees thus stopped the match in the 12th minute.

Conclusion

The match between Avion Academy and Bamboutos FC was therefore officially stopped in the 12th minute, by decision of the refereeing team, in accordance with the regulations.
